Grammar rules
- Start with the base verb: Open the book.
- Negative: Don’t + base verb.
- The subject you is normally understood, not spoken.
- Please can soften a request.

- Turn left here.
- Don’t touch that.
- Please write your name.

Common mistakes
- Do not normally add you before a simple imperative.
- Do not use to + verb: To open the door ✗.
